Rio Matanza

(Bodie Kendrick - Bounty Hunter)

By Wayne D. Dundee

Reviewed by Matthew Pizzolato

Rio Matanza is the second book in the Bodie Kendrick - Bounty Hunter series and it is every bit as good as the first. Dundee is a master at developing the series character - he has several, of which Kendrick is just one.

Kendrick partners with fellow bounty hunter, Doc Turpin, to apprehend an outlaw gang guilty of heinous crimes. The duo returns successfully to New Gleanus, a site of the gang's recent transgressions. The town fathers are so happy that the pair receives the royal treatment and they are given the run of the town. However, when Turpin disappears suddenly in the night with no more reasoning than a vague note, Kendrick decides to investigate. The trail leads Kendrick to a beautiful woman who is involved in a revolution down Mexico way. Plenty of action and romance ensue.

No matter how you prefer your Westerns, you will enjoy this one. There's tons of adventure, gun-play and romance along with great characters in high stakes situations. I highly recommend it.
